Listed Swedish property company Kungsleden AB (publ) has signed a contract with Heatex AB, which is leasing approximately 4,300 sq.m. in the industrial property Holkyxan 6, in Malmö.

Heatex manufactures air-to-air heat exchangers and has production in the US, China, Czech Republic and Sweden. Its head office and centre for development, as well as some manufacturing, is now being relocated from the Swedish city of Trelleborg to Kungsleden’s property in the Fosie district of Malmö.

This building, constructed in the 1970s, had been adapted for the operations of former tenant, electrical goods distributor Selga.  Prior to Heatex taking over the contract, Kungsleden will conduct conversion work and modernisation of the property internally and externally.

“We’re conducting the renovation work, and adapting the building to satisfy Heatex’s operational needs in collaboration with them. At this time, we’ll be installing new heating and ventilation systems, using Heatex’s heat exchangers for ventilation, which will reduce energy consumption significantly,” commented Gert Ternström, Kungsleden’s Regional Manager in Malmö.

The new heating, cooling and ventilation systems, based on Heatex heat exchangers, will produce an annual energy saving of about 230,000 kWh, or around 45% of annual consumption.
