Energy consumption for a property owner will always be a focal area among Property Managers, Technical Managers and the environmental organisation.

With a portfolio of approximately 300 properties, energy consumption has a significant footprint on both the environment and the income statement. Minimizing the footprint will have positive effects for both society and the company’s profits.

A large project where solar panels were installed on the property Älvsborg 178:8 in Gothenburg has  recently been completed. The solar panels were installed on the façade as solar reflectors which not only make use of the solar energy, but also lowers the indoor temperature and as such decreases the need to cool down the premises. The installation comprises 42 kW and is expected to generate 38,000 kWh per year, which can be compared to the consumption of seven apartments. The ROI is expected to be eight years.
