Kungsleden produces a sizeable environmental impact, and thus has substantial possibilities to help improve the environmental burden of its properties. For its actions and projects to produce real results, Kungsleden has chosen to focus its environmental work on a number of issues at a time. Because 90 per cent of the properties that will be standing in 50 years have already been built, working on energy saving in existing properties is important.
Energy consumption is one of the parameters Kungsleden has selected as a priority for its goal-oriented work and has focused a lot of effort on it. Reducing the energy consumption of properties reduces environmental impact, as well as operating costs. Kungsleden has prioritised key questions for reducing climate change such as phasing out oil-fired boilers, energy savings and sourcing origin-certified electricity above internal actions like saving paper etc.
Other activities Kungsleden is prioritising include removing PCBs, measuring radon and partnering with tenants. Kungsleden will continue to pursue environmental matters in a businesslike, focused and creative manner.
